James Franklin Brooks, 60, died Monday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services are pending at Elliott's Funeral Home.
Born September 15, 1905 in Comanche, he married Alice Rachel DeGuire in Lamesa January 18, 1945. They moved to Abilene from Lampasas in 1953.
He is survived by his wife: three daughters, Mrs. Larry Gill, of Abilene, Ruth and Rhonda Brooks both of the home; a son, Larry Don of the home; four brothers, Dock of Palacios, Carlton of Comanche, Virgil of Sweetwater, Delbert of Houston and one sister, Mrs. E. V. White of Colorado City.
