Friday Funeral Rites Here for Ben R. Campbell
Benton R. Campbell, 87, of Rte. 1, Weldon, died Tuesday evening at a Grinnell rest home after an illness of two months. Funeral services from the Smith Funeral Home. Burial in Graceland cemetery at Laurel.
He was the son of Robert and Mary Emory Campbell and was born November 18, 1878, at Audubon, Iowa. On November 29, 1906, he married Marie Ebert at her family farm near Kellogg. They recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Campbell owned and operated a farm for the last 20 years in Decatur County near Weldon.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Grover and Henry Campbell; and five sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Banning, Mrs. Lillie Crews, Mrs. Ella Wood, Mabel Campbell, and Mrs. Ethel Farragut.
