Martha was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. She married Franklin Blodgett and together they had six children: Electa Jane, 1840 – 1903; Frances E. Blodgett, b. 1843; William H Blodgett, 1845 – 1910; twin sons, Edward C. and Edwin Blodgett, b. 1849 and Nina Blodgett, b. 1859. Martha died in 1859 in Orion, Olmsted, Minnesota.
