Ms. Dorothy Ford Wulfeck, M. A., who wrote and published "Wilcoxson and Allied Families,"1958, recorded on page 16, that John Willcockson III, was a son of John Willcockson, Jr. and Sarah Notson. His birth date of 1790, is per the 1860 Census for Hopkinsville. He probably died in Hopkinsville after his listing in the 1870 Census.

KY Genealogy: Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky, Dennis Partridge, County Coordinator, July 7, 2015: "John Wilcoxson came here perhaps about 1817, and died but a few years ago."

Kentucky Marriage Records: From the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society, p. 150: Christian County Kentucky Marriages 1797-1825 - Q to Y:

"Lander, Adah married Wilcockson, John on 01 Apr 1823."

"Wilcockson, John Apr. 1, 1823, Lander, Adah, d. Thos. W. Daniel Pattie"

"Family History Book, Christian County, Ky," Vol. 2, by Lon Bostick, 1991, Turner Pub. Co., Paducah, KY: Lander-Skinner:" states that John Willcockson of Hopkinsville, first married Adah "Addie" Lander in 1823. She was the daughter of John Lander and Sallie Skinner of Hopkinsville.

Adah Willcockson died in 1824, and was buried in the Old Pioneer Graveyard in Hopkinsville. She had no children.

Ms. Wulfeck includes in her book a letter written by John on June 24, 1824, Hopkinsville, to David Peeler, Esq, in Fayette, MO. It was contributed by an elderly, Miss Eva May Peeler of Fayette, who was a great help to Ms. Wulfeck in contributing much information on these families for her book. (Judge David Peeler was married to Sarah, daughter of John's older brother, Isaac Willcockson, and wife, Rebecca White.)

"Goodspeed's History of Southeast Missouri Biographies of Scott County, 1888:"

"John W. Daughterty: Thomas Harrison Price was born March 2, 1808, . . . His parents died when he was quite young, leaving a family of two girls and six or eight boys. Harriet and Ann were the daughters. One of them married a John Wood, . . . the other married John Wilcox . . sons . . . William Elgin (Price). William Price lived in Hopkinsville . . ."

"John H. Wilcockson" second married Harriet Price on April 12, 1831, officiated by Rev. A.H. Steinmons (sp?) in Christian Co., Ky. She was born about 1812 to Joseph Price of Woodford Co., KY, and Ann Elgin Manning, and was not listed in the 1850 Census. Another source states Harriet's mother as Jane Ragen. The Joseph Price family also lived in Hopkinsville.

Abstract from "History of Christian County," by Wm H. Perrin 1884:

"Among the early tradesmen, some of whom afterward became the most prosperous merchants . . . John Wilcoxson . . ."

"Daniel Safferance was a tin and coppersmith; Archibald Gant was the first hatter in Hopkinsville . . . John Wilcoxson, a carpenter . . ."

John is not on the list of those buried in the cemetery. Time and vandals have left many graves unidentifiable, so his burial location is assumed. It is likely the following children were those of John and Harriet.
