Richard A. BOWEN, 67, Leiters Ford, died at 5:20 a.m. today at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Arrangements are pending at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, for Richard A. BOWEN, 67, Box 104, Leiters Ford.
The Revs. Doug BARBER and Dorothy JONES will officiate, and burial will be in the Rochesrter I.O.O.F. Cemetery where the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Fund.
Mr. Bowen died at 5:15 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Wayne. He had been ill for eight weeks. He was born July 7, 1923 in Rochester to Vernie and Pearl WRIGHT BOWEN, and had resided most of his life in Fulton and Marshall counties. On April 14, 1959 in Carksdale, Miss., he married Jane BACK, who survives. He was retired from the Indiana State Highway Department's Parks Division of the LaPorte District after 18 years. He had also operated the Village Hardware in Leiters Ford for several years. He was a graduate of Crown Point High School, and an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the European Theater.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. John (Cheryl) HIMES, Plymouth, and Mrs. John (Stephanie) HOKE, LaPorte; five sons, Don [BOWEN], Culver; Phillip [BOWEN], Mount Pelier, Ohio; Daniel [BOWEN], Leiters Ford; Jeffrey [BOWEN], Plymouth, and Bruce [BOWEN], Lawrence, Kan.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lester (Esther) PLAIN, Dyer; Mrs. Evelyn AMACHEE, Valparaiso, and Mrs. Leland (Sara Jane) SCANDLING, South Bend, and a brother, Dr. Otis BOWEN, Bremen.
