Professional baseball player. Roy made his debut as a pitcher in 1897 with the St. Louis Browns. By the end of his baseball career in 1903, he had additionally played with the Louisville Colonels, Washington Senators, New York Giants, and the Brooklyn Superbas. Roy batted and threw right. His win-loss record was 29-43, had 211 strikeouts, and earned run average of 3.66. Roy later made headlines with charges of forgery for writing eighteen bad checks in both Montana and Missouri, and was arrested and convicted of bigamy for having four wives. He served near twenty months at Leavenworth. After his release, he disappeared into obscurity.
