Ocie Dew Harper, 86, of Sutton died October 15, 2007 at her residence. She was born March 21, 1921 in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Adam Edgar and Emma Williams Fisher. Also preceding her in death were her infant daughter Dorothy Jane Harper and nine brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Nebo United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Lester E. Harper; 7 sons, Kenneth of Elyria, OH, Ernest of Petersburg, Wilbert of Summersville, Everett of Letona, AR, Dwight, Delmas, and John of Sutton; 2 daughters, Elsie Shrum of Lewisburg, TN, and Brenda Gregory of Sutton, WV; 1 sister, Eva Robinson of Sutton; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Services were held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV with Rev. Bill Griffin officiating. Burial was in the Fisher Cemetery on England Run.
