WELL KNOWN FARMER AND CONTRACTOR OF THIS COUNTY PASSED AWAY MONDAY EVENING
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning for William H. Allen, 80, who died at his home on Allens Creek Monday morning, October 23, 1933 following an illness of several months. A Masonic funeral was held, with the Rev. A.V. Joyner of the First Baptist Church of Canton conducting the funeral, being assisted by Rev. R.A. Sentelle and Rev. Kay [Aden].
Interment was made in Green Hill Cemetery.
The deceased was a farmer and contractor. He had lived in this county his entire life and was well known.
He is survived by four sons, R.O., Luther L., Harley and Julius Allen, all of Waynesville. There are also surviving three brothers, Jeremiah C. Allen of Waynesville and David R. and John H. Allen of Canton.
The three sisters are Mrs. James (Lillie) Kelly of Waynesville, Mrs. J.T. (Sarah) Mehaffey and Mrs. Amanda Medford of Canton.
Pallbearers were: J.M. Long, W.L. Lampkin, R.L. Prevost, R.L. Gibson, Grady C. Farmer and L.S. White.
