Danville, Va.- May 20.
Rorer Abraham James, Jr., Publisher of the Danville Register and Bee for the past 16 years, died suddenly at his home on Marshall Terrace, Thursday morning.
He was found lying on the floor beside the bed, and it was thought he had attempted to call a physician.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at the Church of the Epiphany.
He had become publisher of the newspapers on the death of his father, the late Rorer A. James, Sr., in 1921.
He was born in Danville on Jan. 25, 1897 and had lived here all his life.
He was educated in the Danville School for boys, Augusta Military Academy and V.M.I.
He studied law at the University of Virginia and served as an instructor in the World War.
He married Miss Elizabeth Letcher Stuart, daughter of Capt. and Mrs. J. E. B. Stuart, in New York City on June 16, 1919.
Among the survivors in the immediate family are: Mrs. Anne Wilson James, mother of Mr. James and the following brothers and sisters: R. Wilson James of Washington, D.C.. James Bruce James, Danville and Mrs. Anne James Covington, Shanghai, China.
