Groff was founder of the Groff's potato chip business, in Bowmansville, and remained active in the operation of the firm until retirement 11 years ago.
Born in Talmage, he was a son of the late W. Scott and Elizabeth Snyder Groff; and was a member of the Pine Grove Mennonite Church.
His wife, Minnie B. Groff, died in 1953.
Surviving are these sons and daughters: Arthur Groff, Mohnton R2; Walter Groff, Ray Groff, Eleanor, wife of Charles Lane, all of Bowmansville; and Charlotte, wife of Marvin Good, Ft. Lauderdale,Fla.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
