Horace W. Groff, eighty-three, formerly of Bowmansville, died at 11 p. m. Saturday at the Friendly Nursing Home, Millmont R1, where he was a guest four weeks.
Groff was founder of the Groff's potato chip business, in Bowmansville, and remained active in the operation of the firm until retirement 11 years ago.
Born in Talmage, he was a son of the late W. Scott and Elizabeth Snyder Groff; and was a member of the Pine Grove Mennonite Church.
His wife, Minnie B. Groff, died in 1953.
Surviving are these sons and daughters: Arthur Groff, Mohnton R2; Walter Groff, Ray Groff, Eleanor, wife of Charles Lane, all of Bowmansville; and Charlotte, wife of Marvin Good, Ft. Lauderdale,Fla.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
