Chico Record, Saturday Morning, February 21, 1914, pg 8 col 4: Death Claims Mrs. R.M. Wilder. Mrs. R.M. Wilder died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Lothrop, 86 Rio Chico Way, about midnight Thursday night. Death came from tuberculosis of the lungs, from which deceased had been suffering for several years. Mrs. Wilder was twenty-nine years old.

Deceased was born near Orland, Glenn county, October 15, 1884. Most of her life had been spent in Chico previous to her marriage in 1911.

The funeral probably will be held Monday afternoon and interment will be made in the Chico cemetery. Two daughters, Priscilla and Marguerite; her husband, R.M. Wilder; Mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Lothrop, and a brother, Hale Lothrop, survive.

Her husband was to have had a hearing before Justice J.L. Barnes on a charge of wife abandonment Monday. The death of Mrs. Wilder causes the charge to be dismissed.

29-year-old Mary M. Lothrop Wilder was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on February 23, 1914.

Chico Record, Tuesday Morning, February 24, 1914, pg 4 col 3: Mrs. Wilder Is Buried. Many friends of Mrs. R.M. Wilder attended her funeral, which was held from the Engle undertaking parlors yesterday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Hart of the First Presbyterian church officiated.

Impressive services were conducted by the Women of Woodcraft at the grave. Close friends of Mrs. Wilder were the pall bearers. Interment was made in the Chico cemetery.

The pall bearers were: Alex Collins, W.W. Wright, Winfield Riley, Miles Stevenson, Charles Stevenson, Bert Johnson.
