Myron Skorupa, age 77, of Cardington, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital.
He was born to the late Michael and Tekla (Saniska) Skorupa, on March 22, 1933 in Sloboda Zolota Ternopol, Ukraine. Myron married the former Sofia Sawkulycz on July 8, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, and she survives in Cardington.
Myron was a dedicated and very patriotic American, serving his county in the United States Army as a Specialist3 during the Korean War, and was a member of Post 101 American Ukrainian Veterans. He spent time at Bachan Aerospace working on the first space shuttle. Myron also worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors. Myron was also a member of Saint Joseph's Church in Warren, Michigan. Myron loved to sing; using his talents in the Golden Bells and other singing groups. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren on a regular basis. Survivors include . . .
The family will also be celebrating Myron's life at Saint Joseph's Church, in Warren, Michigan on Monday, October 18, 2010; viewing from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
