Frances “Fannie” Priest was born in Culpeper County, VA in 1802 (per her obituary) to John and Darcas (Allen) Priest. She married John Ehrnman on May 22, 1824, in Fairfield County, OH and resided on a farm in Amanda Township, OH.

John had three children from a previous marriage. John and Frances were the parents of two children, John Jr. and Mary. John Sr. died in 1826, at the age of 31, when daughter Mary was less than a month old. An estate sale was held May 16, 1826, which shows Fannie Ehrnman, widow, purchased a loom. John Jr. died in 1828.

In 1830, Frances married James L. Frost in Fairfield County, OH. They settled on a farm in Fallsbury, Licking County, OH. Their five children were born in Licking County. They were: Samuel L., Miron, John, James, and Elizabeth “Eliza” Frost. They moved to Illinois and settled in the Cuba area in 1858 where James continued in the occupation of farming.

Frances died at the residence of her daughter, Eliza Manion, on March 28, 1886. She had been a long- time member of the M. E. Church. Funeral services were conducted at the house by Rev. B. F. Eckley and she was buried in the Cuba Cemetery.
