Blue Grass, Iowa - Mrs. Laquita J. Henning, Blue Grass, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Davenport. There will be no visitation. The Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Laquita Cole was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Iowa City, the daughter of Raymond and Naomi (Zugg) Cole. On June 4, 1952, she married Richard Henning in Davenport.

She was a member of the Blue Grass American Legion Auxiliary and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Davenport. She enjoyed attending garage sales, resale shops, flea markets and antiquing. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice Care of VNA.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; her children and their spouses, Ernest and Sandy Henning, Bettendorf; twins, Kevin and Calvin Henning, both of Blue Grass, and Darma and Robert Moses, Davenport; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Nancy Hughes, Davenport. She was preceded in death by her mother; her father; and a brother, Richard Cole.
