Benjamin first married to Elizabeth Schor (Shore) Rominger (1795-1855), on 13 Jan 1819 at Salem, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Benjamin and Elizabeth were the parents of six known children, namely:

1. Adam Sanford Rominger (1819-1914)
2. Jonas Martin Rominger (1822-1904)
3. Solomon Josiah Rominger (1824-1825)
4. Simon Franklin Rominger (1826-1877)
5. Melvina Catherine Rominger Barrett (1828-1904)
6. Mariah Elizabeth Rominger Evans (1831-1864)

Benjamin and Elizabeth, and their five living children moved from North Carolina to Columbus Township, Bartholomew County, Indiana in April, 1838.

In 1850 Benjamin (a farmer), Elizabeth and their youngest two children, Malvina (age 22) and Mariah (age 19) were living at Haw Creek Township, Bartholomew County, Indiana. In 1860 the widower Benjamin (listed as a retired farmer) was living with his married daughter Mariah Rominger Evans (and her husband and two children) at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana.

A Benjamin Rominger married Margaret M. Miller on 04 Jul 1857 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Was this a second marriage for Benjamin? Benjamin is also thought to have married a J. Swaim late in life, but nothing is known about this marriage.
