He was born Sept. 23, 1899, in Bothwell, a son of Rasmus and Mary, Elvira Johnson Andersen. He married Edna Marie Harris on Jan. 20, 1922, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was reared and educated in Bothwell and he owned and operated a farm in Bothwell. He had served as mayor of Bothwell and was a member of the Box Elder County Farm Bureau. He had served as chairman of the Valley View Cemetery District in Bothwell.
He was instrumental in the development of the Bothwell water system. He was a High Priest in the Bothwell LDS Ward. He had served as a member of the bishopric for 13 years and had served as High Council member in both the Bear River and South Bear,River LDS Stakes.
He and his wife filled an LDS mission to the Southwestern Indian Mission in Arizona from 1970 through 1972.
He had served as a member of the Sunday School presidency, YMMIA president, Sunday School teacher, Boy Scout leader, and was presently serving as a home teacher.
Surviving are his widow of Bothwell; four sons, and two daughters, Wallace Ervin Anderson Jr., Oklahoma City, Okla.; Eldon LeRoy Anderson, Hagerman, Idaho; Jay H. Anderson and Lynn H. Anderson, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. John (Elaine) Harding, Hockley, Tex.; Mrs. Robert (Ione) Tyler, Rupert, Idaho; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchilden; five brothers and eight sisters, Milton John Anderson, Thatcher; Reed J. Anderson, Cleon Anderson, Clyde Merrell Anderson, Golden R. Anderson, Mrs. James Leo (Nina Mabel) Stokes, Mrs. Henry A. (Norma Estella) Newman, Mrs. Cecil Charles (Wanda Elva) Newman, all of Bothwell; Mrs. Retta Adams, Mrs. Everard A (Alice Erma) Roche, Mrs. Amy Ruth Alien, Mrs. Dean V. (Ruby) Orwin, all of Tremonton; Mrs. Edward George (Vera Fern) Smith, Preston, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 noon in he Bothwell LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Rogers Mortuay in Tremonton Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be in the Valley View, Cemetery.
