Roger was born April 30, 1931 in Sheboygan to Roy and Myrtle Hustmann Stine. He attended Central High School.
He served in the U.S. Air Corps from 1952-1956.
On Oct. 6, 1956, he married Mae Henschel of Sheboygan at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in October.
Roger was employed at Hayssen Manufacturing Co. for 20 years. He was a security officer at Memorial Mall, until illness forced his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Stine was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ and the Sheboygan Elks Lodge No. 299.
In addition to his wife, Mae, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Terri Stine, Meron, Wis., and Brian and Barbara Stine, Plymouth; two grandchildren, Bradley and Nicole; two uncles, Richard (Alice) Stine and Clarence (Irene) Stine, all of Ladysmith, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Randall Brakemeyer, pastor of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, will officiate. Cremation will take place with a family interment at a later date. A reception will be held at Ballhorn's following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
