Mrs. R. J. Matheson, 67, of Reinbeck, died Friday morning in St. Francis hospital of a heart attack. Death had been unexpected for Mrs. Matheson reportedly had been considered making good recovery after a major surgical operation and had planned to come home that day. She had been in the hospital since January 21 and on January 26 was operated upon for removal of her gallbladder and appendix. As Anna Stelk she was born in Tama county and was married more than thirty-five years ago. She formerly lived in the Amity community and in 1920 moved to a farm east of Reinbeck. Surviving are a son, James of Reinbeck, and a stepson, Thompson Matheson of Conrad. Her husband died about two years ago.
