Van L. Chapman, 84, was a retired bridge foreman for Austin Bridge Company.
Mr. Chapman had lived in Abilene most of his life, except from 1946-1956 when he lived in Hamlin. He retired in 1944. Mr. Chapman was a member of the Clinton Street Church of Christ.
Survived by one daughter - Mrs. F.B. Langford; one granddaughter; one sister - Miss Carrie Chapman.
