Died, at her residence, three-fourths of a mile west of town, Saturday June 27, 1885, Mrs. Barbara Laswell, at the advanced age of 77 years, 8 months and 3 days.

She was born in Trumbull County, Ohio and moved with her parents (her maiden name being Baughman) to Indiana in 1821, and was married to Andrew Lasswell in 1826, who moved to Fulton County, lllinois in 1828, and has been a resident of Putman Township ever since. She was the mother of 10 children, 6 of whom survive her, 4 daughters and 2 sons.

Was a kind and indulgent wife, mother and neighbor - always administering to the wants of the distressed when opportunity offered. A consistent Christian, and was a member of the Christian Church for over fifty years.

The funeral services took place form the Christian Church on Sunday at 11 AM, conducted by Elder Marion Stevenson, of Lexington, Kentucky. Her remains were laid at rest in the Cuba Cemetery, by the side of her husband, who preceded her to the far beyond several years ago. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends were in attendance at these last sad rights.
