KANSASVILLE – Frederick Sauder, a pioneer resident of this section, passed away at his home Monday morning (February 19, 1934) after several months of failing health.

He was born November 19, 1854, in Kenosha shortly after his parents had moved from Pennsylvania. He was married January 22, 1880 to Catherine Neusius in St. Mary's Catholic Church at Dover. Mr. Sauder did threshing for farmers in this locality, taking in a large territory for this work. He started way back when the work was done by horse power. Later when steam power came into use he purchased a steam outfit in partnership with the late Gust Bratz. He was also one of the best known sheep shearers around here when that work was done by hand. About forty years ago he purchased the present homestead.

He had two children, Louis and Mrs. Veronica Mutter. Mr. Sauder is survived by his widow, the children and the following brothers and sisters: Peter, living here; Christ, Red Granite; John and Mrs. Andrew Sauder of Wautoma; Mrs. Hannah Bonning of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Mary Gilles of Racine; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at the home and 9:30 at St. Mary's Church.
