Martinsville newspaper clipping, no date or name of paper.
Died at his residence near Irisburg, on the 7th day of March, 1900, in the 87th year of his age, Mr. George W. Richardson, who was born on June 16th, 1813.
Mr. Richardson was born and brought up near Dyers Store in this county being the oldest son of John Richardson, who died soon after the War in 1865.
Mr. Richardson married Miss Clarissa H. Martin, only daughter of John Jesse Martin who survives him at the advanced age of 81 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Richardson had eleven children, William A., Jesse M., John E., Susan F., George L., Thomas G., Joseph, Mary M., Martha A., Eliza J., and Sallie J., all of whom survive him except Jesse M. who was mortally wounded at Fort Stedman a few days before General Lees surrender and died on 5th of May, one month after at the age of 28.
John E. died early in life, Joseph in infancy, and Miss Susan in July 1888 (1889)
