Ruth Weakley Obituary
Ruth (Adams) Weakley, 82, of Mechanicsburg, formerly, Harrisburg, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Stonebridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
She was a retired Operator from the former Bell of PA Telephone Co. A 1945 graduate of Millersburg High School, she was a member of Summerdale United Methodist Church, Telephone Pioneers of America, Ding-a-lings Operators Club, American Business Women's Association, and Fox Eichelberger VFW Post 7415, New Cumberland.
She was born December 20, 1927 in Tower City to the late Charles Henry and Tamah (Hand) Adams. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Weakley, Sr., step-father Milton Weaver, brother, Harry Adams, and sister, Mae Adams Cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Cook Myers of Mechanicsburg; sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Adams of Wisconsin; granddaughter, Mindy Myers of Mechanicsburg; several nieces, nephews, friends and her pet cat Lacey.
Viewings will be held from 6-8pm Friday and 9:30am until funeral services at 10:30am Saturday at Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland. Burial will be in Shoop's Cemetery, Lower Paxton Twp.
