Ada Mae Teters Strickland, 81, passed away Thursday September 23 2010 in Conway Arkansas.

She was born November 18, 1928 in Ada, Minnesota to the late Charles Jasper Teters and Ada Mae (Spoon) Teters. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Allen Strickland of Conway Arkansas, her son Dale Allen Strickland of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her sister Jeannie (Teters) Kroshus and her brothers in law Dewey Kroshus of Ada, Minnesota and Melvin Tveita of Minneapolis, Minnesota

Survivors include, her sister, Hazel Tveita of Minneapolis Minnesota, daughters Fay and husband David Clark of Eden Praire, Minnesota, Debbie Strickland of Lesser Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada, and Carol and husband Mike Hess of Conway, Arkansas, daughter in law Becky (Strickland) Lindner of Andover, Minnesota. Grandchildren, Dawn and husband Todd Peterson of Fargo, North Dakota; Colin and wife Sue Clark of Baltimore, Maryland; Jessica Robinson and fiance Mike Matthiessen of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Lisa and husband Drew Rongere of Andover, Minnesota; Brett and wife Alyssa Strickland of St. Paul, Minnesota; and Lindsey, Paige and Mason Hess of Conway Arkansas; and also a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

Ada was born on a farm in Minnesota. She attended college in Moorhead, MN where she met her husband, Clarence. After they married in 1948 they lived in Minneapolis. In 1960 the family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They returned to Minneapolis in 1971. In 1977 they retired to a farm in Waldron, Arkansas. Ada and Clarence were recognized by Tyson Corporation several times for their successful chicken farming. They spent their final years in Conway, AR.

The family of Ada Strickland wants to say a special thanks to the Faulkner County Senior Citizens Center, Unity Day Care, Patrick and Susan Dickens and our cousin Gena Shearer. These groups and individuals made our mother's last years so full of love and support that there is not enough words to express our deepest gratitude. God bless all of you.

Her passion was her family and participating and watching sporting events. She was very involved in her church activities. Ada was a spunky, energetic, fun-loving woman who loved her family. Her children will miss her love, guidance and support in their lives.
