He died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at River Park Healthcare Center, Rock Island.
He was born Feb. 5, 1916, in Macomb, Ill., son of Fred D. and Beulah Ridding McKee. He married Mary Jeanne Eddy April 24, 1938, in Macomb. She died Feb. 2, 1995.
He worked as a security guard at the former International Harvester Works for 37 years, retiring April 30, 1977. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Silvis Masonic Lodge 898 and Eastern Star Rose Chapter 626, Silvis, where he was worthy patron in 1970. He was a former member of UPWA Local 207 and had served as president and financial secretary. He was an honorary member of Haines City First Christian Church and was a member of Victory Baptist Church, East Moline.
Surviving are sons, Thomas McKee and his wife, Martha, and James A. McKee, all of Moline; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Jeanne, a brother and four sisters.
