MRS. GROSVENOR DIES.
Widow of New York Merchant Had Owned Many Prize Horses.

Mrs. James B. M. Grosvenor, widow of a retired New York merchant, died suddenly on Tuesday at Murray Bay, Quebec, Canada. Her husband came from an old Rhode Island family at Providence.

During her married life Mrs. Grosvenor devoted her time to blooded horses, and won several prizes at the horse shows in New York, Louisville, and other cities. Their home was at 723 Fifth Avenue. After her husband's sudden death of apoplexy on Sept. 25, 1905, the widow sold most of her prize stock of horses.

Mrs. Grosvenor was Miss Minna [sic] Ludeling, daughter of Judge John T. Ludeling of Louisiana, and was an expert horsewoman and an excellent rifle shot. She kept one of her prize horses, Petroleum, until her death.

For many years Mrs. Grosvenor made her Summer home at Newport, but eight years ago she bought a place at Murray Bay and had a camp in the Laurentian Forest. Her New York home was at 39 East Fiftieth Street. She was a prominent member of the Colony Club.
