James Cook, 80, Dies in Hospital
Funeral services for James Blaine Cook, 80, of Cabell Heights will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Albert L. Ostrander and Carl R. Richmond in charge.
Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Cook died in a Charleston hospital at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday.
A retired stock manager of the Raleigh Grocery Co. at Mabscott, he was a member of the Mount Tabor Baptist Church and the Dilly's Run Hunting Club.
He was born May 31, 1884, at Mount Tabor, a son of James H. and Sarilda Phipps Cook.
His wife, Willie Dillion Cook, is living in Charleston.
Other suvivors include three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Mary) Underwood and Mrs. Clifford (Gertrude) Tolbert, both of Cabell Heights, and Mrs. Paul (Rose) Snuffer of Charleston; a son, Charles Haskell Cook of Beckley; a brother Kenzie E. Cook of Sinks Grove; and 20 grandchildren.
The body is at Calfee Funeral Home. Friends may call afternoon today. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.
Active pallbearers will be Grover Zutant, Gail Tolbert, Clyde Tolbert, Basil Campbell, Oscar Underwood and Lewis Tolbert.
Members of the Dilly's Run Hunting Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
