"B.A. Pierce, 88, Interred Saturday; Passes Away Thurs. ~ B.A. Pierce, age 88, of Dalton, passed away at his home on the Waring Varnell Road, Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Pierce; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Davis of Lafayette and Mrs. Helen Barnes of Arlington, VA; one son, John Pierce of Dalton; one stepdaughter, Mrs. J.N. Padgett of Dalton and one stepson, J.A. Kelley of Dalton; one brother, Euke Pierce of Tunnel Hill. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the New Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. Charlie Hambright and the Rev. Mack Smith officiated. Burial was in the local cemetery with Kenemer Brothers in charge of funeral arrangements."
