DEATH OF MRS. JOHN RUPE A SHOCK TO COMMUNITY
-------------
The death of Mrs. John Rupe last Friday came as a profound shock to both friends and relatives as her illness of less than a week had not been considered critical.
Mrs. Rupe, who has resided in the south neighborhood since she was a young girl came with her parents from Minnesota nearly a half century ago, has made many good and loyal friends who sincerely regret her early passing.
Devoted to her husband and family, always keenly interested in the welfare of her neighbors, kindly, generous and hospitable, Mrs. Rupe was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband, and children, Fred, Frank, Edward, Mrs. Nellie Meyer, Walter, Wallace and Nile, all of Eustis; Grover and Grace Brandon of Potter; five brothers, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
The last rites were performed Sunday afternoon athe the Evangelical Church, Rev. N. Thomas, Local pastor, officiating. His text was the 22nd verse of the 55th Psalm: "Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee."
Mrs. E. H. Unvert played the accompaniment for Mrs. H. H. Zwink, A. J. Baker and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hueftle who sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Just Outside the Eastern Gate"; also for the special number, "Beautiful Garden of Prayer", sung by Mr. and Mrs. Hueftle.
The last service was made specially beautiful by an unusually large and attractive display of flowers, impressive testimony of a high regard for the deceased and the value placed upon her friendship.
Sons carried the deceased to her final resting place in the family lot in the West cemetery.

We have lost a darling mother, she has bid us all adieu,
She has gone to live in heaven, and her form is lost from view,
Oh, that dear one how we loved her, Oh how hard to give her up
But an angel came down for her and removed her from our flock.
Earth has lost its look of gladness, heaven seems to us more bright,
Since the spirit of our loved one, took her happy homeward flight,
And we long to cross the river, long to rest upon that shore,
There to see, and know, and love them with our Savior evermore.
