Mrs. Emma J. Sawicki, 1634 6th Ave., died early Monday, June 4 at Weld County General Hospital. She was 84.
Born in Wolbach, Neb., March 19, 1889, she was reared and educated in Nebraska, and later taught in two rural school districts and also at Scotia and Wolbach.
She was married to Walter J. Sawicki at Greeley, Neb., Oct. 8, 1912. They came to Greeley from Sacramento, Calif. Sawicki died in Jan. 5, 1970.
Mrs. Sawicki was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the St. Dymphoa Circle of the Alter Society. She was a charter member of the Auxiliary of Army Engineers in Walla Walla, Wash., and in Greeley
was a member of the Greeley's Women's Club, Double Four Bridge Club, Friendship Club, Hi-Lo Club and Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter, J. Gayle of Omaha, Neb., Walter J. Sawicki Jr. of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Betty Bird of Tiburon, Calif., 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Jessie Fox of Wolbach, Neb., Mrs. Keturah Oufderheide of Ann Arbor, Mich., Mrs. Arthelia Ramsey of Arcadia, Neb., Dale Lowe of Boise, Idaho, and Harold Lowe of San Diego, Calif.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, in the Macy Allnutt Drawing Room. Mass of the Resurrection will be sung at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wolbach, Neb. with internment following in the Wolbach Cemetery.
