Services for Benjamin Gilbert Green, 86, were today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Jarnigan officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery near Savannah with Shackelford Funeral Home of Selmer in charge. Mr. Green, a retired farmer, died Wednesday afternoon at McNairy County General Hospital in Selmer. He was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ina Singleton Green; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Bridges of Adamsville and Mrs. Rhoda Phillips of Loudon; a son, Alton Green of Ripley; three sisters, Mrs. Sula Majors of Cerro Gordo and Mrs. Lizzie Brasfield and Mrs. Ruby Plunk, both of Adamsville; a brother, Roy Green of Adamsville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
