Mary Morgan Burri, 87, passed away Monday, July 12, 2004, in Logan, Utah. She was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Fountain Green, Utah, to James and Elinor Yorgason Morgan. Mary was the youngest of eight children. The Morgan family moved to a farm south of Nampa that year and Mary grew up, attended school and spent most of her life in Nampa.

Mary and Wayne Eubanks were wed Sept. 14, 1937, and had three children: They were divorced in 1957. Later, she married Roy W. Casteel, and they lived in Nampa for 20 years until his death. During that time Mary became well known for her Fabrege-type egg creations. Mary's eggs were featured several times in local newspapers, on television, in the Ensign magazine and were once displayed in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. After Roy's death, Mary wed local dairyman George L. Burri. They enjoyed traveling extensively until his death.

Besides decorating eggs, painting, needle work of all kinds and traveling, Mary was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading about other countries and cultures, famous people and Gospel-related subjects. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life.

After living on Amity Avenue for nearly 40 years, Mary sold her home and resided in the Sunnybrook Retirement Home in Nampa for several years. When she became ill, her family moved her to the Logan House Assisted Living Center in Logan, Utah, so she could live close to and be cared for by her oldest son's family.

Mary is survived by her son, Jay (Rosemary) Eubanks of Logan; daughter, Jan (Ron) Schlerf of Spokane, Wash.; son, Jon (Glenda) Eubanks of Nampa; also sisters, Lucille Babcock of Provo, Utah and Della Morgan of Spokane, Wash. Mary has 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
