Hazel Shuler of Longmont died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Boulder Community Hosiptal in Boulder. She was 90. She was born April 17, 1910, to Pryor N. and Jennie Bell in Missouri. She came to Longmont in 1919 from Hamilton, Mo. On Oct. 31, 1943, she married Loyd Shuler in Platteville.
Mrs. Shuler owned and operated a restaurant in Longmont in the early 1940's. She went to work for Longmont Schools as a manager in the cafeteria. Mrs. Shuler did volunteer work for various organizations in the Longmont area. She enjoyed fishing, and was an avid sports fan. She also enjoyed the school children while she worked at the schools. She was a member of LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont.
Mrs. Shuler was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Shuler, on April 13, 1997; two sons and two daughters. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, three brothers, three sister; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 325 Terry St., Longmont.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rick Rusaw of LifeBridge Christian Church officiating.
Interment will be at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
