GREGORY
Audie Lee Gregory Jr., 69, 2001 Peppertree Court, died Wednesday (July 8, 1992) at Guadalupe Medical Center.
Services for Gregory will be held in the West Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Rev. Gene Harbaugh of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Pallbearers will be John Scott, David Gregory, Wayne Gregory, Larry Gregory, Leon Gregory and Max Porter.
Mr. Gregory was born in Hominey,, Okla. He received his education in the Carlsbad Schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1939. He entered the Navy in 1941 and served as a communications specialist retiring as a chief warrant officer. He married Ann Broadbent in 1946. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Yale and Northwestern State University in Okla, his master's degree in administration from Northeastern State. Gregory taught elementary school in Artesia and was an elementary school principal in Tahlequah, Okla.
Later, he was employed as head master of the Rabat American School in Rabat, Morocco. He became a district manager for Farmers Insurance Group until his retirement. He was of the B.P.O.E. number 1558, the Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce Goldcoaters. He also served as chairman of the Citizens for Energy Development.
Survivors include one son, David Gregory of Carlsbad; one daughter, Susan Scott of Carlsbad; three brothers, Leon Gregory of Ft. Sumner, and Thomas Jack Gregory and Wayne Gregory, both of Carlsbad; four sisters, Grace Fuson, Gean Boggs, Shirlee McNabb, and Lila Porter, all of Carlsbad; and three grandchildren.
