Lewis, May 7.--A disastrous accident happened in the family of Henry Burmaster [Burmeister], living about six miles west of here in Pottawattamie, on Friday morning last. He had gone to the field to work, taking with him his 4-year-old son [daughter], leaving him to play near the wagon where also his coat and vest from which the boy obtained some matches, by which he set fire to the grass and weeds about him. He was quickly enveloped in flames, and before help could reach him portions of his body were burned to a crisp. Medical aid was summoned, but the shock was so great that nothing could be done, and he died in the evening.
