Born Nov. 24, 1917, in Oglethorpe County, Ga., she was a daughter of Luther and Nellie Viola Esco.
Mrs. Fant retired in 2000, after 30 years as a land developer. She was instrumental in developing residential property on Greenville's Eastside.
She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg since 1946.
Mrs. Fant established three U.S. Patents. She enjoyed exhibiting and selling southern primitive antiques in her shop, Country Corner Antiques, which she owned and operated for 18 years. Her other hobbies include volunteering, gardening, canning and freezing vegetables, and sewing, crocheting, painting and flower arranging.
Mrs. Fant is preceded in death by her husband, William Carlisle Fant.
Surviving are her daughters, Glynda Ann Eddy of Pensacola, Fla., Janice Fant Gilmore, and her husband, Dr. William Dennis Gilmore Jr., of Greer, and Wanda Kay Georges, and her husband, Michael Georges, also of Greer; sisters, Sarah Nell Hudson of Athens, Ga, and Vera Grace Petters of Cocoa, Fla, and a brother, Luther Carlton Escoe, of Athens, Ga. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m., at The Mackey Mortuary. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. today, at the mortuary.
