George E. McCroskey died at the Hayden hospital Saturday, January 15. His sudden passing away was indirectly due to a tumor on the brain.

The funeral was in charge of A. W. Heyer Tuesday afternoon at Hayden.

The very impressive ceremony at the Hayden church was conducted by Steamboat Springs.

The active pallbearers were all employees of the Texas company at Tow Creek, where Mr. McCroskey had been employed.

The esteem in which the deceased was held in the community was indicated by the large attendance of friends from Steamboat Springs, Hayden, Milner, Mt. Harris, and Tow Creek.

Beautiful flowers covered the casket and decorated the space in the front part of the church.

George E. McCroskey, who was 34 years old, was born in Monroe, Iowa, on January 21, 1893.

He came to Routt County with his parents when he was eight years old, and has since that time made his home here.

On August 12, 1913, he was married to Miss Gertrude Fink at Steamboat Springs. She and their five children survive him. The oldest child is 12 and the youngest is 2 years old. Other relatives who mourn his passing are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zoro McCroskey of Milner, one brother, R. Z. McCroskey of Milner, three sisters, Mrs. J. P. La Vol and Mrs. Cora Heavilin of Denver, and Mrs. F. L. Colley of Steamboat Springs.

George McCroskey was always kind and considerate to all with whom he associated and ever thoughtful of his parents, brothers, and sisters.

He was a loving husband and father. His one aim in life seemed to be to make those who were dependent upon him happy and comfortable.

While his passing leaves a pain in the heart of his loved ones, peace, and comfort will rest in his memory, for he was a man who accomplished his life work willingly and faithfully.
