Ora William Adams, 85, of the Melrose Community of Rt. 2, Harrisonburg died Thursday afternoon at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Adams was vice president of Adams Farms Inc., a dairy farm which he operated along with his son Nelson W. Adams of Rt. 3, Harrisonburg and four grandsons.

He was born May 21,1901, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Medford H. and Mary Garber Adams.

Mr. Adams was a member of the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren and a former member of the board of directors of the Rockingham County Farm Bureau Federation.

He lived on Kratzer Road north of Harrisonburg before moving to the Melrose area in 1958.

On Sept. 18, 1924, he married the former Sylvia Landes, who survives.

Besides his wife and son, he is survived by three other children, Lucille Lamb of Chantilly, Gene O. Adams of Stanley and Charlotte Sciota of Eden, N.C.; two brothers, Frank G. Adams of Dale Enterprise and David M. Adams of Mount Crawford; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Pence. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the funeral home, but the family will receive friends at the Adams home.

In lieu of flowers, the family said memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Grove Church of the Brethren in care of Mary Good, Rt. 2, Harrisonburg.
