Mrs. Sarah Ashworth
Mrs. Sarah Ashworth, aged 48 years, died at her home on the ranch at the mouth of otter creek Monday afternoon. Death was due to tuberculosis and she had been ill for several months. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the family home, Rev. W. W. Connor of the Episcopal church conducting the services. Burial was made in Pleasant View cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by neighbors and friends of the family.
Mrs. Ashworth was a native of Scotland, coming to America as a child. She was married about 30 years ago to Charles Ashworth at Rock Springs, Wyoming, the family moving to this section about 25 years ago taking up a ranch about one mile above Armington and later acquiring the property at the mouth of Otter creek where the family has since made their home.
Mr. Ashworth died about six years ago. Mrs. Ashworth was the mother of 17 children, 12 of whom are now living. A life given to her children, no nobler claim to the respect and admiration of mankind can be put forward by anyone. A kind hearted and unselfish neighbor, she held the esteem of all and is sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends.
She is survived by 12 children ranging in age from six to twenty-six years of age, eight sons, Owen, James, Adam, Charles, John, Ralph, Roy and Norman; four daughters, Mary, Sarah Myrtle and Isabella.
