Honolulu Advertiser, July 12, 1952, p. 9. Louis A. Buese Dies; Services This Afternoon. Services will be held at Williams mortuary at 4:30 this afternoon for Louis Anton Buese, 65, of 3641 Diamond Head Circle, senior vice president and director of the Hawaiian Electric Co., who died in St. Francis hospital yesterday morning after a brief illness. The family requests that no flowers be sent, but those wishing to honor his memory may make donations to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children. He is survived by two sons, Sherman Fargo Buese, who arrived from Los Angeles yesterday morning, and Louis Philip Buese, a resident of Maui; a daughter, Mrs. John Warren of Honolulu; two sisters, Mrs. Chester Verran of Oakdale, Calif., and Mrs. Ernest Durand of Giant, Calif.; a brother J.N. Buese of LeMoine, Calif.; a father-in-law, R. Sherman Fargo of Los Angeles, a former Honolulu resident, and six grandchildren. Mr. Buese was born June 13, 1887, in Republic, Mich., and attended the University of Michigan. Prior to his arrival in Honolulu he was associated with the Los Angeles Gas & Electric Co., and the bureau of power and light in Los Angeles. He came to Hawaii in November 1937, and had been active in community affairs. He was a member and former president of the Oahu Country club, a member of Outrigger Canoe club, Pacific club, and the engineering association of Hawaii. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of Aloha Temple. He also held membership in the Honolulu Chamber of Commerce and the Republican club.

Louis Anton Buese, 65, senior vice president and director of the Hawaiian Electric Co., died at 2:30 this morning at St. Francis Hospital after an illness of 10 days. Earlier this year he had played an important part in conferences at Washington which brought final approval for the site of the company's new $10,000,000 power plant. The conferences arranged return of Army land to the Territory, to be followed by a land exchange for the new plant site at Alakea, Halekauwila, Richards and the Alla Moanna. Born June 13, 1887, in Republic, Mich., Mr. Buese arrived in the island November 1937, to work with the firm as a design engineer. Mr. Buese attended the University of Michigan. Prior to his arrival in Honolulu he was associated with the Los Angeles Gas and Electric Co., and the Bureau of Power and Light in Los Angeles. Surviving are two sons, Sherman F., who arrived yesterday from Los Angeles, and Louis Philip, a resident of Maui, and a daughter, Mrs. John Warner of Honolulu and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at Williams Mortuary, the Chapel of the Chimes. The family has requested that flowers be omitted.
