WILLIAM BAXTER DEAD

William Baxter, a well known citizen and farmer, died at 2 o'clock this morning at his home in Salt Creek township after an illness of several months. Mr. Baxter has been suffering with hernia and his trouble grew to such an extent that an operation was necessary. A week ago the operation was performed and there were indications for the better, but he was taken worse last Monday and continued to grow weaker until the end. William Baxter was 67 years of age and was born and raised in Salt Creek township. He was an honest, conscientious citizen and leaves four children by his first marriage and 7 by a latter marriage to mourn his death. The children are: Joseph of Missouri: John and Henry Baxter of this county; Mrs. Minnie Langwell of Indianapolis; Mrs. Jennie Rice, Richard, Ethel, Samuel, Mrs. Grace Marrs, Calvin and Norville Baxter. The funeral will be held a 11 o'clock Friday at the Knight school house and interment in the Knight cemetery.
