Avis Helen Aust, 89, died Tuesday December 30, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born to Calvin and Carrie (Stiver) Rogers on May 9, 1919 in Millersburg, Indiana. She married Charles Aust, Jr. at Zion Church in Millersburg on September 22, 1939. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1998.
Mrs. Aust was a homemaker and worked for eight years at Harris Whiteman Jr. High School in Goshen.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, was a 20 year volunteer for the Red Cross, volunteered with Goshen General Hospital Auxiliary and Fountain View Nursing Home.
She was also a 1937 graduate of Millersburg High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Jim) Marks of White Pigeon, Michigan and Judith Martin of Big Rapids, Michigan;
four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 funeral service will conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Nelson of Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris officiating.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorials may be made to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
