Paul B. Brown, 90, of Parkersburg, died July 23, 2010.

He was born June 9, 1920, and celebrated his 90th birthday this summer with his family and friends. He was the son of the late Frank B. and Adela Piersol Brown.

He was a graduate of PHS in 1939 and worked at DuPont for 35 years until retiring in 1985 as a data operator. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was stationed in Casablanca, Africa. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 169 A.F. & A.M. for 58 years, Jerusalem Chapter No 3, was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and was a member of the Nemesis Shrine. He was also a member of South Parkersburg United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Hustler's Sunday School Class. One of the joys of his life was spending time on the Brown Family Farm.

He is survived by one nephew, Tom (Marcie) Hoffman of Columbus, Ohio; two nieces, Kay (Tom) Kennedy of Cary, N.C., and Christine (Emmett) Mays of Versailles, Ky.; four great-nieces, Julie (Bill) McClung of Pearland, Texas, Susan (Derek) May of Weatherford, Texas, Stacy Kennedy of Cary, N.C., and Jennifer (John) Hammond of Columbus; five great-nephews, Michael Mays of Versailles, Ky., Scott (Shara) Mays of Lexington, Ky., Keith Kennedy of Cary, N.C., Mark Hoffman of Columbus and Daren Hoffman of Columbus; three great-great nephews, Jason, Wesley and Bailey; two great-great nieces, Katlyn and Emma; and three first cousins, Eva Baker of Houston, Texas, Isabel Powers of California and Wilma Simms of Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Blanche H. Brown; two brothers, Howard Piersol Brown and Colbert Wesley (Dolly) Brown; one sister, Marguerite Loraine Brown; and a niece, Carolyn Elaine Brown Case.

Services will be 11 am Tuesday at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church, 1813 Rayon Drive, with the Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with masonic rites by Parkersburg Lodge 169 and military rites by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to South Parkersburg United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1813 Rayon Drive, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
