Anna Ruth married Joe Wallace Cruse on January 16, 1936 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1984.
Anna Ruth was a member of the Salisbury First Christian Church. She co-owned and operated with her husband the Sturm's Restaurant and the Cruse Café in Salisbury for many years, she also was a seamstress for Biltwell Clothing Factory in Salisbury and was well known throughout the area for baking thousands of pies of all flavors for many area family occasions.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Ed Stanley, four sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Faye Cruse, LaVerne "Vernie" Cruse, Leonard and Mary Cruse and Walter and Beverly Cruse all of Salisbury. Daughter-in-law, Peggy Cruse of Moberly, 27 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband, two sons Pete and Ronald, daughter, Carolyn Truesdell and a grandson, Charlie Cruse, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00p.m. at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with burial in Eastlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Salisbury. Visitation is from 4 till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers family would like memorials sent to either Howard County Hospice or Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association.
