Verne Ott, 32, former Traer boy, died last Friday in the Glen Lake sanatorium at Hopkins, Minnesota where he had been a patient for more than two years. He was a victim of tuberculosis and had been in frail health for some time. The decedent was a son of the late Henry Ott, formerly of Traer, and a nephew of Mrs. H. J. Hagedorn, of Traer; Mrs. Lewis Blocker, of Clutier, and Mrs. L. F. Wiese, of Dysart. The funeral service was held at the Boettcher Funeral home in Traer at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Elmer J. Braun, pastor of the Dysart Lutheran church. Mrs. Minnie Gipe and Mrs. G. E . Oster, of Dysart, sang "Peaceful Slumber" and "Nearer, My God, to Thee," accompanied by Mrs. Dora Hansen, of Dysart. Pallbearers, all from Traer, were Leonard Cherveny, Lawrence Childs, Roy Hotzel, Tom McEwen, James R. Wilson and Milo Mochal. Burial was in Buckingham cemetery.

Verne Henry Ott was born in Traer on April 1, 1908. He attended the Traer schools until 1920, when the family moved to Little Falls, Minnesota. He was graduated from the Little Falls high school. He was employed for a time in Davenport, Iowa and then moved to Minneapolis. He was married November 26, 1936, to Laurette Winmill, of Walker, Minnesota. Surviving are the widow; his mother, Meta Ott, of Davenport; three brothers, Harnold, Arthur and Ray Ott, of Davenport; and three sisters, Mrs. Irene Schwartz, of Davenport, Mrs. Alice Collins and Mrs. Margaret Buchner, of Washington, D. C. All of these relatives and their families were here for the funeral.
