Pembroke - Mr. Craig Walling Carter, age 49, died Sunday evening, Oct. 17, 2010, at his home. Mr. Carter was a former employee of Georgia Pacific, with over eight years of service, and was currently working at Lowe's Home Improvement Store in Statesboro, where he was a receiving specialist for over 15 years. Craig was also a fan of NASCAR and loved Jimmy Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, April Mills Carter of Pembroke; son and daughter-in-law, Cody Darnell and Gabby Mock of Pembroke; daughters, Lauren Ashley Carter of Ellabell and Cassie Danielle Mock of Pembroke; sister and brother-in-law, Jean Carter Adams and Dean Adams of Pembroke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester w. and Priscilla Carter of Ridgeland, S.C., and Curtiss L. and Gloria Carter of Ellabell; mother-in-law, Joyce Wilson of Claxton; father-in-law, Frank "Freight Train" Mills of Cobbtown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Northside Cemetery.
