The Chico Daily Enterprise, Friday Evening, January 10, 1919, pg 5, col 3: Passing of Ira Jeffery Shock to Friends Here. The death of Ira Jeffery, who succumbed at his home here on Normal avenue early this morning came as a shock to his many friends in Chico. The deceased is a native of Ithaca, Michigan, and came here five years ago to build up his lost health, which he never regained. He was engaged in the dairy business in the east before coming west. His father was the “General Bidwell” of Ithaca, and many telegrams of sympathy have been received by his bereaved wife from that city.
The following relatives are left to mourn his loss: His wife, Mrs. Ira Jeffery, who was with him when he passed away, a brother, John Jeffery of North Carolina; a nephew, John Jeffery Jr., of San Francisco, a stepfather, J.H. Seaver, of Michigan; a niece, Mrs. William Nackie of St. Louis, Missouri.
