Joseph's 1st wife: Hannah Ette Odell

Hannah married about 1830 in Schoharie County, NY to Joseph N Root who was a farmer. About 1846, Joseph & Hannah moved to Ellicottville, Cattaraugus County, NY where Hannah died on 12/13/1846 & was buried in the Jefferson Street Cemetery in Ellicottville, NY.

Joseph N Root was the son of Mary VanSlyke & her husband Root. Hannah's parents were Isaac Odell & his wife Hannah Smith.

Hannah & Joseph's children were:

Joseph's 2nd wife: Lucy A Horton(1818-1893)
At present, we do not know if they had any children together, but brought up the children that Joseph & Hannah had together.

Hannah Ette, wife of Joseph N Root, died in Ellicottville, Dec.22, aged 37 years. Through her Christian life career
was but a few month's duration, she exhibited, during that time,those graces which adorn the Christian character. She was patient in tribulation, strict and acrupulous in the discharge of Christian duties, and died with a well grounded hope of a glorious immortality. By S. Hunt
