He was a native of Ware County and resided most of his life here. He was the son of the late Ernest "Pete" Vaughn and Opal Eloise Hill Vaughn Anderson. A sister, Patricia Vaughn Highsmith, preceded him in death.
He was an oil technician for Wal-Mart for 14 years and was a devoted employee who loved his job. He attended the Holiness Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ray Vaughn (wife Michelle), of Lake City, Fla.; two daughters, Rhonda Baker (husband Craig), of White Springs, Fla., and Tina Spradley, of Lake City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Michael, Caleb, Kyle, Hailey, Brittany, Shelby, Tyler and Hunter; two very special pets, Ginger and Gator; a sister, Terry Patterson (husband Doug), of Waycross; two brothers, Eugene Vaughn (wife Jo), of Jesup, and W.R. "Winnie" Vaughn (wife Barbara), of Nahunta; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Wal-Mart associates are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to serve as honorary pallbearers.
