Martha Allen Rudder, 100, of Hurdle Mills, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at her home. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Rueben Malcolm Allen and Olena Rogers Allen.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Yancey Rudder and one grandson, Stephen G. Bowes. Mrs. Rudder was a member of Flat River Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are her seven children: Hassell "Pete" Rudder (Margaret Ann) of Hurdle Mills, R. Donald Rudder (Alice) of Alton, VA, Melvin Malcolm Rudder (Glenda) of Mebane, Barry B. Rudder (Glenda Faye) of Hurdle Mills, Joyce R. Eakes of Roxboro, Jane R. Burch (Phillip) of Roxboro, and Bonnie R. Bowes (Kenneth) of Roxboro; one sister, Naomi Davis of Reidsville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Brooks & White Chapel and other times at the home.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Brooks & White Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Vernon Wilkerson. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.
